How those crypto scams work

Some hackers tried to scam me but I was alert, so now I can share this material with you. It looks convincing, creates a psychological pressure, and you must have heard about such cases hapenning to someone.

So how the scam works:

1. You get a message on Telegram from a stolen or compromised account (often looks legit, sometimes someone you know or a “professional” contact).
2. You schedule a call.
3. They send a link that looks like a real Zoom / Google Meet / Teams link.
4. But the domain is slightly different (Notice 2nd pic: it oppens a different link).
5. On the call, multiple people join to make it feel important and urgent — even if it’s just an “intro”.
6. They create pressure in chat: “Can you connect now?”, “Please update your Zoom SDK”, etc.
7. They ask you to download or run a file.
8. Once you run it → they steal your accounts, access your wallet, or drain funds.

That’s it. No magic. Just social engineering + fake links.

How to stay safe:

✅ Always verify people if anything feels off. Trust your gut.
🚨 Stay alert — remember that slow is fast.
👛 Use cold wallets for serious funds.
🔗 Verify the links in the browser.
📩 Use 2FA everywhere (especially Telegram & email).

Better to look paranoid than to lose your funds.

* Stablecoins exploded to $300 billion in supply, processing $46 trillion in transactions (up 106%), outpacing PayPal and coming close at Visa's heels—proving crypto's not just speculation but real payments for emerging markets like Argentina (16x growth in three years).
* Most of the scale comes from L2s, which helped to bring down the fees and delay
* User base hit 716 million owners worldwide (16% jump), with 181 million monthly active addresses, though down 18% — a sign of consolidation amid maturing tech.
* Institutions are there (BlackRock, JPMorgan), pushing crypto DATs, ETPs and ETFs to $175 billion (169% growth), while tokenized real-world assets ballooned to $30 billion, bridging Wall Street and DeFi.

Right now, our industry has dozens of teams building similar products — often within one or two weeks of pivot distance from each other.

Five years from now, one out of hundred may survive and adapt enough to find a sustainable business model. It might even become truly successful.

Take Hyperliquid. Their story makes total sense in hindsight, but hard to predict with foresight. There were ~20 Perp DEXes before them. Many what-ifs turned in their favor — multiplied by talent, effort, and flawless execution.

This is the reality of what I (for the lack of a better term) call survivorship uncertainty: you can’t know in advance what to build now for certainty.

All we can do is work hard, dream big, and launch often — to maximize our odds of building something beautiful.

Something that, one day, might make a lot of sense in a hindsight.
