I broke up with her because I realized I was never her first choice. She chose someone else over me, and I was left feeling like I was just an option she could come back to whenever it was convenient. I stayed longer than I should have, hoping things would change, but deep down I knew I was just being kept on the back burner. I deserve to be someone’s priority, not their backup plan. So I walked away, even though it hurt, because I refuse to settle for being second in someone’s life.
