India bows down to Musk’s Starlink, no auction of satellite spectrum — Reuters

15.10.24 Just hours after Elon Musk criticized the auction route, India approved an administrative decision instead. Rival billionaire Mukesh Ambani fought for an auction system, this has been a battle between billionaires for India’s broadband market.

Musk's Starlink and some global peers like Amazon's Project Kuiper back an administrative allocation, saying spectrum is a natural resource that should be shared by companies. The market is set to grow 36% a year to reach $1.9 billion by 2030.
