📌 Tehran, IRNA — The newly appointed defense minister of Iran, Mehrdad Akhlaghi-Ketabchi, has reacted to the US president’s bluster, saying that the necessary measures to counter threats have been devised, and if US President Donald Trump’s threats turn from rhetoric into action, he will see the result.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the vote-of-confidence session in Parliament on Sunday, Akhlaghi said Iran has put the necessary measures in place against these threats.
Trump ought to consider how to withdraw his forces from the region safely, he added.
Should he drop even a single bomb, he will have to carry many of his troops out of the region “in a horizontal position,” he noted.
It is precisely this consideration that has so far deterred Trump from taking action, leaving him to rely on rhetoric alone, Akhlaghi said.
“If his slogans turn into action, he will have to suffer the consequences,” he reiterated.
