📌 London, IRNA — Iran’s ambassador to Berlin has pointed to a German newspaper report questioning whether the ‘mother of all bombs’ would even work against Iran, calling the US threat to use such a weapon a sign that warmongers are desperate and confused in the face of Iranian resilience.
In a message, a copy of which was provided to the IRNA office, Majid Nili wrote that Der Tagesspiegel writes about doubts regarding the effectiveness of the ‘mother of all bombs’ against Iran. It has written correctly.
Threatening to use the mother, father, or child of bombs is a sign of the desperation and confusion of warmongers and of Iranians’ resilience, he added.
Recalling previous threats by American officials against Iran, he said, remember the fate of extravagant threats, including the eradication of Iranian civilization. “Iran stands firmer, stronger, and more determined than ever before.”
In a report citing military experts’ assessments, Der Tagesspiegel had previously questioned the effectiveness of the “mother of all bombs” against Iran and wrote that Iran has so far shown high resilience and has proven that airstrikes do not have much of a deterrent effect on it.
Iranian officials have also repeatedly warned about the consequences of any new American military adventure and have emphasized that threats and intimidation cannot dissuade the Iranian nation from defending its sovereignty and national interests.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and Khatam al-Anbya Central Headquarters had earlier, in response to US President Donald Trump’s threats, stressed that these remarks, rather than being based on ground realities, are a tool for American domestic propaganda, adding that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are fully prepared to inflict harsher and unpredictable blows on aggressors should any aggression be repeated.
The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, aka Mother of All Bombs or MOAB, is the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal.
