🔻 Security chief: US response to Iran’s 7 conditions ‘insufficient’

📌 Tehran, IRNA - Major General Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Sunday that the Americans have responded to the seven conditions Iran has put forward for ending the war and opening the Strait of Hormuz, but that Tehran considers their response insufficient.

“The Americans have responded to us, and we consider their response insufficient,” Rezaei said in an interview with Press TV. “Naturally, they must resolve the ambiguities. We must see whether they can resolve the ambiguities so that the next stages can begin or not.”

Rezaei pointed out that Iran had held three rounds of negotiations with the United States, and in each round the Americans left the negotiating table unfinished and attacked Iran.

“Therefore, we will no longer return to those past diplomatic models. Someone who signs an agreement himself and then withdraws from it must naturally be dealt with through a different method of diplomacy,” he said, referring to US President Donald Trump abandoning a previous agreement with Iran.

“Of course, we have never abandoned diplomacy and will not, but we have changed diplomacy,” he added.

Rezaei added that over the past two months, the Americans sent proposals through three channels—Pakistan, Qatar, and even Iraq—and asked Iran to submit its own proposals.

“We announced seven conditions to the Americans: if you do not implement these conditions, neither will the Strait of Hormuz open to you, nor will there be any negotiations,” he said. “The Americans have now given a response. In their response, they have accepted some of our conditions, and there are ambiguities regarding others.”

Rezaei, who also serves as the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the Supreme National Security Council, stressed that the end of the war is in the hands of the Iranian nation and that Iran will not abandon its resistance, steadfastness, and defense until the enemy submits to its rights.

He described the US attack on Iran as “one of the most foolish wars in human history—an oppressive, evil, and inhumane war waged against Iran.”

He said the Donald Trump administration, “blindly handing its reins” to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, entered the war without accurate assessment or calculation.

“They thought they could end the war in a short time and present Trump as one of the great heroes of American history. But today, with that same foolishness, they cannot exit the war, and it requires American wise men to step in, take their hands, and pull them out of the war,” he said.
