📌 Tehran, IRNA – A senior advisor to the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the Strait of Hormuz is closed, and the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have full control over it, adding that this situation will continue until Iran’s legitimate demands are met.
Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi made the remarks in an interview with Al-Alam news network on Wednesday, discussing oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
He said the amount of smuggled oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz is minimal, emphasizing that it would be inaccurate to suggest that the waterway is open to such activities. “We will address this issue as well,” he added.
Naqdi further noted that the “few routes” created by blasting and damaging certain rocky passages in the strategic waterway are primarily used by small boats to smuggle oil and transfer it to larger tankers. He said these routes will soon be closed.
Discussing the range of Iran’s weapons, Naqdi said their limited range is not the result of technical constraints but rather government policy. He explained that the range of Iran’s weapons is determined by decisions made by the country’s officials and the Leader, based on national needs.
The adviser to the IRGC commander emphasized that whenever officials and the Leader authorize such a move, Iran will expand the range of its weapons to meet battlefield requirements.
Naqdi added that, since Iran’s weapons are produced domestically, the country can increase their range and power according to battlefield demands.
