📌 Islamabad, IRNA – The Special Representative of Pakistan for Afghanistan Affairs and the Assistant to the Minister and Director-General for South Asia of Iran’s Foreign Ministry have reviewed ongoing developments in the region.
Sadiq Khan, the head of the Pakistani delegation and Mohammad Reza Bahrami met on Sunday on the sidelines of the Moscow Format on Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated a day earlier that the fifth Moscow Format meeting on Afghanistan is scheduled for Monday, hosted by the Russian Federation, with Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Affairs and its Ambassador to Kabul set to attend.
Providing further details about the Moscow meeting, Bahrami stated that, prior to the commencement of the Moscow Format session, he held a constructive exchange with Sadiq Khan and his accompanying delegation concerning current regional developments.
The Moscow Format is a regional framework established on Russia’s initiative in 2017 to facilitate consultations on Afghanistan’s developments and peace process.
Its meetings aim to foster coordination among regional states and explore pathways to stability and peace in Afghanistan. Key participants include Iran, Russia, China, India, several Central Asian nations, and Afghanistan’s neighbors.
