📣 Call for Expressions of Interest: Feminist Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction
Dear IPSF members,
We’re pleased to share an opportunity to attend “Reimagining Resilience: Collective Futures for Disaster Risk Reduction — From Risk to Justice and Collective Survival.”
📍 Istanbul, Türkiye
📅 5–7 November 2026
⏰ Expression of Interest deadline: 30 September 2026
The conference will bring together feminist movements, disaster risk reduction practitioners, humanitarian actors, climate and environmental justice advocates, researchers, and community leaders. Together, participants will explore how to build a global movement for disaster risk reduction rooted in justice, prevention, care, accountability, solidarity, and collective resilience.
The event will take place after CBD COP17 and before UNFCCC COP31, highlighting the links between the climate and disaster crises. Concept notes are available in English, Spanish, and French.
The conference is hosted by the Women and Gender Stakeholder Group (WGSG) and convened by WEDO, ActionAid, UNDRR, UN Women, Oxfam KEDV, AWID, HUDOTO Law, Nature and Society Foundation, Shifting the Power Coalition, and Duryog Nivaran.
Participation is limited to approximately 100 people. Selected delegates will receive the registration form by 7 October.
