Where are the owners of TON now? And who are they?

How can we tell that TON is losing interest? Today, the network experienced a significant slowdown, yet hardly anyone mentioned it, except for projects directly dependent on TON.

The reason, I believe, is simple - MTONGA. Earlier this year, Pavel Durov initiated a wave of layoffs at TON Foundation and eventually announced the dissolution of the organization. Since then, employees have continued to leave. Last week, two more people in leadership positions were dismissed. It's no surprise that there have been no major announcements or events for an entire quarter. And today, an unsuccessful network update added to the woes.

The layoffs also affected TON Core. It's no secret that Kirill Yemelyanenko, who, along with Anatoly Makosov, was handed ton.org by Pavel Durov after the SEC incident, has also left the project. There's no information on Anatoly yet—apparently, they managed to negotiate favorable terms, but there's been no official confirmation. Against this backdrop, today's update seems particularly telling.

For almost two hours, the network experienced a significant slowdown in processing messages and producing blocks in shards. Ultimately, the update was rolled back and postponed indefinitely. It's unclear who is currently responsible for the network's development and updates, as different people are now pushing pull requests on GitHub.

It seems TON has been dismantled, and no one is in a hurry to put it back together. Personally, I have little faith in Durov's remaining MTONGA steps. The rebranding to GRAM doesn't seem to have sparked any new interest in the ecosystem. Quite the opposite, in fact.
