Guided by lead experts from the MGIMO Institute for International Studies, these young professionals delved into the most pressing global issues, and provided novel approaches and thoughtful assessments.

The topics explored by our fellows reflect the complexity and interconnectedness of today's international landscape, spanning areas such as geopolitics, international cooperation, climate policies, and post-colonial narratives.

Here’s a glimpse into the main avenues of their research:

🟡Civilizational Approaches to International Relations
🟡Russia's Strategic Presence in Africa
🟡Democracy, Sovereignty, and Electoral Dynamics in Kenya
🟡Russia-Türkiye Relations in Key Geopolitical Arenas
🟡Environmental Challenges and Opportunities
🟡Post-Colonial Approaches to Global Security
🟡Lessons of History for a Multipolar Future

Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Moms hold a special place in InteRussia's hearts. They are not just the parents of our fellows but also our motivators and sources of inspiration, who help their children to overcome challenges and celebrate every success together.

Let’s ❤️ this post to cherish our wonderful moms!

And let’s share what we are grateful to them for in the comments section. We go first: Thank you, Mom, for believing in us, making the impossible things possible!

Redefining Global Pathways: InteRussia Fellows Discuss a Changing World 🧩

The InteRussia fellowship program in international relations saw a meeting with Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of IMEMO. During the session, he provided an in-depth overview of IMEMO’s main areas of expertise and shared his expert insights into some of the most pressing challenges, which shape today’s global landscape.

The discussion spanned a range of crucial issues and shed light on the complexities of the existing international hierarchy. The key topics included:

💭 the crisis of global institutions and the emergence of a new world order;
💭 the interplay of economics, politics, and security;
💭 Russia’s vision for the future of international relations;
💭 regional dynamics and challenges.

Discussions like this are essential for fostering a next generation of leaders capable of shaping opportunities for an equitable and cooperative future as the outline of the coming international system continues to evolve.

What’s the meaning? It lies in art 🌸

Our fellows plunged into the world of modern creativity and cultural reflection by attending the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. They explored works that challenge conventional perspectives and spark meaningful dialogue.

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art was founded in 2008 by Dasha Zhukova and Roman Abramovich. Garage has amassed an extensive archive on the history of Russian contemporary art, publishes books on a wide range of themes connected to contemporary culture, organizes film screenings and talks, and offers long-term programs of support for artists and regional art institutions. In 2024, Garage began forming a collection of contemporary art.

Viewing the museum exhibits often goes beyond simply observing the art. To truly understand the pieces, you need to engage with them on a deeper level, reflecting on the stories and meanings behind the work.

✏️What do you think the exhibits at Garage Museum aim to express?
