Fueling Knowledge: InteRussia Fellows at the Gladkoe Terminal ✨

As part of their hands-on program, the InteRussia fellows in energy explored the Gladkoe fuel terminal — one of Russia’s strategic energy hubs. The visit offered a close look at advanced petroleum quality control technologies and the daily rhythm of large-scale operations.

On-site, the group had the opportunity to:

🟣follow the process at the railway unloading trestle, where tank cars deliver their cargo;
🟣observe the precision of the automated truck loading station;
🟣step inside a high-tech laboratory conducting rigorous fuel testing;
🟣explore digital systems that monitor volumes and properties in real time.

This field experience not only deepened the fellows’ understanding of Russia’s energy infrastructure but also sparked discussions on innovation and international cooperation to shape the future of the sector.

Training the Next Generation of Energy Leaders 😒

Some lessons aren’t learned in classrooms — they happen in control rooms, testing grounds, and digital labs. This week, that’s precisely where our Latin American fellows found themselves.

At Rosseti’s Intelligent Laboratory of Digital Networks, they:

🔹Explored a full-scale 110 kV automated substation — part of Russia’s most powerful real-time power system simulator, where dispatchers rehearse the toughest scenarios.

🔹Visited specialized centers for energy innovation, climate, and mechanical testing — putting infrastructure to the test under extreme conditions.

🔹Discussed import substitution, AI implementation, cybersecurity, and modern data transmission technologies, diving into the real challenges of today’s energy sector.

From Moscow’s underground Skolkovo substation to St. Petersburg’s digital grid lab, our fellows got a firsthand look at the inner workings of energy. Join the journey as InteRussia pulls back the curtain on how power really flows.

Happy Birthday to our idea-catcher and story-maker Ksenia 😍

She’s the mind and heart behind InteRussia’s media magic — the one turning fellowship days into stories, and stories into moments you’ll never forget. From early-morning shoots to last-minute captions, she’s the reason our feed feels alive.

When she’s not curating fellows, she’s busy climbing walls — literally — or convincing the whole team to run “just a few kilometres” for fun. She’s the reason our Latin American fellows feel at home even thousands of miles away — always ready to listen, help, and make sure no one is left in trouble (or in an airport).

Ksenia, thank you for your warmth, your creativity, and courage to make even the wildest ideas happen. May your year ahead be as bright, bold, and full of energy as you are!

With love,
The whole InteRussia Team ❤️
