The crypto industry suffered 55 major hacks in September, with total losses reaching around $766.5M — a roughly 462% increase from August's $136.3M.
The biggest incidents were Bitget at ~$387M and Liquid Network at ~$320M, which together accounted for most of the month's losses.
Around $285M from the Liquid Network exploit was later returned.
September was the worst month of 2026 so far for crypto hack losses.
