— 🇲🇽 A violent clash during family visiting hours at El Castillo Penitentiary in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, killed nine inmates and a minor visiting family, leaving 16 prisoners injured.

Mexican army, National Guard, navy and state security personnel intervened to restore order, while authorities suspended visits and began notifying victims' families.

The incident follows another deadly prison riot in Culiacan and comes amid ongoing Sinaloa Cartel factional violence, although officials have not established a connection between the conflict and the latest deaths.
