☀️ Meta is looking to power AI from space

Meta is exploring a new way to solve one of its biggest problems right now: energy for AI infrastructure.

The company partnered with Overview Energy to collect solar power in orbit and beam it back to Earth. In space, solar panels get constant sunlight with no day night cycle, so energy generation can run continuously instead of stopping at night.

The system is designed to plug into existing solar infrastructure, which makes it faster to scale and avoids building everything from scratch.

At the same time, Meta is working with Noon Energy on new storage systems that could hold power for over 100 hours, far beyond what typical lithium ion batteries can do.

The direction is clear. AI is becoming an energy race.
