These Reels show a blurred preview with a “clock + star” icon and a timer. Viewers are prompted to follow the creator to unlock the video, creating hype and encouraging more followers before the content goes public.

This builds on Instagram’s earlier locked Reels idea but focuses more on audience growth, giving creators a way to reward loyal followers and generate buzz around upcoming posts. Currently, the feature is limited to a small group of creators.
