👎Meta Instagram Begins Shutting Down Under-16 Accounts in Australia
#news #Insta

Australia is getting serious about social media age limits! Meta has started deactivating Facebook and Instagram accounts for kids under 16, following a new law that bans under-16s from using major platforms.

Kids flagged under the age limit have been warned and given a chance to download their data before accounts are shut. Meanwhile, Messenger access remains for younger users, but Facebook, Instagram, and Threads will be disabled until they turn 16. All removals are expected to be completed by December 10, 2025 — making Meta the strict online age gatekeeper Down Under.
