📲 Instagram Begins Live Testing of ‘Blend’ Reels Sharing Feature
#news #Insta

Instagram is testing a new feature called “Blend” that allows users to view a shared, AI-curated feed of Reels based on their individual interests and activity. Instead of sending Reels directly, users can invite friends to join a Blend feed within their DMs, which will suggest content that reflects both people’s preferences.

The feed adapts over time as more Reels are shared, aiming to enhance the social experience around messaging. While this could work for closely aligned friends, the usefulness of Blend on a broader scale remains uncertain. Instagram is focusing on boosting messaging engagement, and the feature may roll out more widely soon.

📲 Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other posts: How US plans to use AI to revoke visas and deport these students
#news #Insta

The US State Department is launching the “Catch and Revoke” initiative, using AI to analyze social media posts of foreign students holding visas to detect support for Hamas, a Palestinian militant group. The AI will review posts on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

If any content is found supporting Hamas, students may face visa denial, revocation, or deportation. This follows an executive order signed by President Trump in January, which targets individuals supporting pro-Palestinian protests. While the initiative aims to enforce zero tolerance for support of terrorism, civil rights organizations have raised concerns about the accuracy of AI in interpreting complex political speech.

📲 Meta Immune From Instagram Sex Trafficking Case, US Judge Rules
#news #Insta

A U.S. judge has ruled that Meta is immune from a lawsuit filed by a sex trafficking victim who claimed Instagram facilitated her exploitation. The judge dismissed the case, citing Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects internet companies from liability for user-generated content.

The plaintiff alleged that a trafficker groomed her on Instagram and later advertised her for sex, but the court found that her claims were barred by the federal immunity law. The ruling aligns with previous decisions in similar cases, reinforcing the protections granted to tech companies under Section 230.
