POWERFUL EARTHQUAKE ROCKS ALASKA ALEUTIANS!

A powerful magnitude 6.5 earthquake has struck beneath the waters of Alaska’s Aleutian Islands, along one of the most active seismic boundaries on Earth.

The quake occurred south of Nikolski where the Pacific Plate plunges beneath the North American Plate.

No tsunami threat was issued, but the event is another reminder of the enormous tectonic forces continuously at work beneath the Aleutian chain.
