Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he personally spoke with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa following Israeli airstrikes in Damascus in July 2025.

Speaking at a Likud event for the Druze community, Netanyahu described the conversation as brief and forceful, claiming it helped stop the violence against Druze civilians in southern Syria.

The disclosure marks the first publicly reported direct conversation between the two leaders and comes as Israel and Syria continue discussions over a possible security agreement.
