Israel’s Foreign Ministry criticized UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher for bowing while greeting Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

“Nothing captures the UN’s moral bankruptcy quite like a bow,” the ministry wrote on X.

The ministry was responding to UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer, who condemned Fletcher’s greeting and pointed to the Iranian government’s deadly crackdown on protesters in January.
