📍Tobizin's Cape is on our map today

Do you know that feeling when you're standing on the edge of the Earth and there's only the ocean and the wind around?

Welcome to Tobizin's Cape - the most southern point of Russky Island. This is the place where cliffs up to 30m high drop into the Sea of Japan and pathways twist among pine trees and rocks which were sharpened by wind and water over millions of years.

Getting here is already an adventure: a hike from the parking will take about an hour
but along the way you can encounter blockhouse's ruins and trenches from the Great Patriotic War. They're still hidden in the grass, reminding you that these cliffs once guarded Vladivostok.

By the way, let's talk about the name. There're two versions: according to the first, the cape was named after vice admiral Ivan Tobizin. According to the other, it was named after lieutenant Herman Tobizin who sailed the waters of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk.
And the lighthouse, which once stood on the stone platform, was washed away by the sea in 2020, now this place has become even more wild and atmospheric.

Знаете то чувство, когда стоишь на краю земли, а вокруг только океан и ветер?

Добро пожаловать на мыс Тобизина - самую южную точку острова Русский. Это место, где скалы высотой до 30 метров обрываются в Японское море, а тропинки вьются среди сосен и камней, которые ветер и вода точили миллионы лет.

Добраться сюда - уже приключение: пешая прогулка от парковки займёт около часа, но по пути можно наткнуться на руины ДОТа и окопы времён Великой Отечественной - они до сих пор прячутся в траве, напоминая, что эти скалы когда-то охраняли подступы к Владивостоку.

Кстати, о названии. Ходят две версии: по одной, мыс назвали в честь вице-адмирала Ивана Тобизина, по другой - в честь лейтенанта Германа Тобизина, который бороздил воды Японского и Охотского морей. А вот маяк, который когда-то стоял на каменной платформе, в 2020 году смыло морем - теперь это место стало ещё более диким и атмосферным.

📍Как попасть: от Владивостока на автобусе №29 или на машине через Русский мост. Вход свободный.
