IDF: Overnight (Monday), IDF soldiers and Israel Border Police forces operated in the area of Jalud to disperse Israeli rioters and protect the residents of the area, as the return of a Palestinian family to their home in the area had been coordinated. The family had been forced to leave their home following several incidents of nationalist crime against them. Due to the violence, the mission to return the family to their home was not completed.
More than 100 Israeli rioters were present in the area. They blocked roads, set tires on fire, and hurled rocks toward security forces. The rioters also set fire to Palestinian-owned structures in the area, as well as vehicles and additional property.
As a result of the clashes, three Israel Border Police officers were lightly injured, and a security forces vehicle was damaged.
The forces operated at the scene to disperse the gathering using riot dispersal means and apprehended two suspects, who were transferred for questioning by the Judea and Samaria District Police. Later, Judea and Samaria District Police investigators, together with forensic investigators, will enter the area under IDF protection to collect findings and evidence and take testimonies as part of the investigation that has been launched.
The security establishment strongly condemns any harm to security personnel while carrying out their duties, as well as acts of vandalism and damage to property.
Such incidents divert attention, undermine stability, and hinder the security forces’ defensive and counterterrorism activities.
