IDF: In an operation to locate weapons: Security forces located two shafts and ruled out the possibility that it was a tunnel

Subsequently, the forces apprehended four suspects involved in terrorist activity, and located weapons, magazines, and two shafts.

IDF soldiers, Israel Border Police, and the Israel Police conducted an overnight operation to locate weapons in Qalqilya, following intelligence received indicating the presence of weapons in the area.

During the operation, two shafts dug underground were located, approximately 12 meters deep. Weapons were found near the shafts, including an M16 rifle, a hunting rifle, a handgun, and ammunition, which were confiscated by the forces.

Contrary to official and irresponsible statements that emerged on the matter, following an examination of the shafts, the presence of a tunnel route was ruled out. It was also determined that the shafts were not located in proximity to the area of the security barrier.

Subsequently, the forces apprehended four suspects involved in terrorist activity, who are currently being questioned by the security forces.

At this time, the security forces continue to operate in the area to locate and rule out the presence of additional shafts, while conducting extensive activities to locate additional weapons.

The security forces will continue to operate proactively to thwart terrorism throughout the Judea and Samaria area and to maintain the security of residents.
