Clients that hold a long cash balance in a currency subject to negative interest rates will be assessed a currency handling fee as described on the website

Interactive brokers have multiple entities across the globe and certain websites for some entities have not been updated with the latest information.

Depending on your country of Legal residence (where you currently reside), your account is opened with the corresponding IBKR Entity. Unfortunately it is not possible to have accounts with two different entities or change the IBKR entity associated with your account.

The website for the IBKR Central Europe entity does not have such a link directly accessible. The correct path to check for applicable interest rates is to access IBKR's Hungarian website's Home page (https://www.interactivebrokers.hu/en/home.php) and then selecting Pricing from the top menu.

Please consider this message as a confirmation that IBKR does not provide Interest on idle cash balances for all IB-CE clients, due to Hungarian laws which govern investment service companies. As IBKR has no control over these laws and regulations, we cannot determine when interest will be paid to affected clients.
