A wallet known as “pension-usdt.eth” had been short ether for two months. On Thursday morning, the position was closed after a major surge in all major tokens and suffered a loss of nearly $24 million from the trade.

The position was 50,000 ETH, worth approximately $106 million at the price when the position was closed. Hyperliquid records show the liquidations took place from 4:51:03 AM to 4:51:15 AM, in five separate forced sales. First, 9,989 ETH at $2,193, then 20,698 at $2,209, then 15,830 at $2,214, then 1,871 at $2,236.
