🔄 Update

Noticed that a proposal to change TON network parameters was approved yesterday. While this does not guarantee anything, it may create a small opportunity for Hipo to return to validation, and we wanted to share this update with the community.

One of the approved changes increased the max_factor from 3 to 4.5. This parameter determines the allowed difference between the largest and smallest validator stake.

• With a max_factor of 3, the validator stake range was approximately 2.7M TON to 900K TON.
• With a max_factor of 4.5, the range becomes approximately 2.7M TON to 600K TON.

Another important factor is that the validator set can include up to 400 validators. In the previous validation round, one validator slot remained empty. If that situation continues, there may be a chance for Hipo to participate again.

Currently, around 500K TON is staked through Hipo. This means that if an additional 100K–200K TON is staked, we may have a chance to rejoin validation. However, this is not guaranteed and will depend on the next election rounds and network conditions.

To give Hipo the best possible chance, we have also made an important change:

✅ The protocol fee has been reduced to 0%.

For now, all staking rewards will be returned to stakers. We are doing everything we can to keep Hipo alive and explore every possible path back to validation.

This is not the update we hoped to share.

Over the past days, we did everything we could to find a path for Hipo to continue operating as a validator. We reached out to large TON holders, explored different proposals, and searched for every possible solution that could keep the protocol running.

We were even prepared to reduce the protocol commission to 0%, giving up protocol revenue entirely, if that would help bring enough stake back to Hipo. Unfortunately, despite all these efforts, we were unable to secure enough TON to meet the validator requirements and return to validation.

To everyone who kept their TON staked with Hipo during this uncertain period: thank you. Your patience, trust, and support gave us hope and the motivation to keep fighting for a solution until the very end.

At this point, we do not want our community to continue waiting and potentially miss staking rewards elsewhere. If you wish to unstake and move your TON to another staking option, we completely understand and encourage you to do what is best for you.

Hipo started with a simple vision: to make staking more accessible, transparent, and decentralized for the TON ecosystem. Together, we built one of the most recognized staking protocols on TON, launched HPO, created a community that believed in the mission, and proved that a small team with a dedicated community could build something meaningful.

While validator operations may be coming to an end, the story of Hipo is not over yet. We are currently evaluating the future of HPO, Hipo Fund, our remaining commitments, and the best path forward for the community. We will share more details as soon as those plans are finalized.

No matter what comes next, we will always be grateful to everyone who joined us on this journey.

HPO holders have voted to accept the offer, allowing Hipo to move forward with the proposed arrangement and work toward resuming protocol operations under the terms presented in the proposal.

Our next step is to finalize discussions with the large TON holder and secure their participation in Hipo. If successful, this would allow the protocol to return to validation and resume normal operations.

📢 Hipo Validator Update — Community Decision

Hipos,

Thank you again for your support, patience, and empathy during this challenging time.

Over the past few days, we have been reaching out to large TON holders to see if they would be willing to help Hipo return to validation. We even sent Pavel Durov a direct message and spent 5,000 Telegram Stars to deliver it, but unfortunately it still hasn't been seen.

We have now received a positive response from one large TON holder who is willing to stake a significant amount of TON through Hipo, allowing the protocol to meet the validator requirement and continue operating.

However, they have one condition:

They do not want to pay any commission to Hipo on their staked TON.

As a result, we see two possible paths forward, and we would like the community to help decide.

Option 1: Accept the Offer

Accept the large holder's stake and allow Hipo to continue participating in validation.

Since this stake would generate no commission revenue for the protocol, we would temporarily adjust the HPO reward distribution related to protocol revenue:

• 50% would be allocated to the large holder as part of the agreement.
• 50% would continue to be distributed among HPO holders as before.

If, in the future, Hipo reaches a level of staking that no longer depends on this support, we can return to the previous profit-sharing model.

Option 2: Decline the Offer

Decline the offer and continue searching for alternative solutions.

However, if Hipo cannot reach the minimum validator requirement of 1M TON in the near future, the protocol may eventually need to cease operations.

We believe Hipo belongs to its community, and this decision should not be made by the team alone.

Due to a recent large withdrawal, the total amount of TON staked through Hipo has dropped to around 600K TON.

At the current TON network settings, validators need at least around 1M TON staked to participate in validation rounds. As a result, the Hipo validator can no longer participate in validation and generate staking revenue until the minimum requirement is reached again.

This is an important moment for the Hipo community, and here's how we can help together:

• Invite other TON holders to stake with Hipo and help us reach the minimum amount required for validator participation.

• We are actively reaching out to large TON holders and exploring additional incentives, including HPO, for those willing to support Hipo by staking significant amounts during this critical period.

• We believe Hipo has strong long-term potential within the TON ecosystem. As a permissionless, fully on-chain liquid staking protocol, Hipo helps improve decentralization while offering competitive staking rewards to users.

• Hipo can also create a more competitive validators market within TON. For example, if Telegram, as one of the largest validators in the network, chooses to participate through Hipo with a portion of its validator capacity, it could help increase competition among validators, improve returns for stakers, and further strengthen decentralization across the TON ecosystem.

➡️ The recent extra costs came from using the Swap Coffee aggregator to convert TON to HPO, where additional hidden fees were applied beyond what was initially shown. After several follow-ups, unfortunately, the issue still remains.

🔄 The Swap Coffee team explained that the extra amount was due to MEV protection, which adds an additional layer and increases the cost.

⚡️ Going forward, we’ll convert TON to HPO directly through DEXs, which allows us to keep costs under control.

💲 Currently, when you request to withdraw your HPO rewards, we charge a 0.5 TON fee. This fee is used to buy the equivalent amount of HPO from the market and transfer it to your wallet.

🔍 As we’ve processed more withdrawal requests, we’ve realized that this fee no longer covers the actual cost of purchasing HPO and handling the transaction. You can transparently verify some of these transactions on hipo.ton.

✍️ To address this, we’re proposing to adjust the withdrawal fee to 2 TON.
