"๐๐๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐๐ฎ ๐ [Oberquartiermeister I; First Deputy Chief of the General Staff] regarding the Admiral's [Canaris] assignment. Sends me immediately to Chef d. Genstb. [Chef des Generalstabes; Chief of the General Staff]. He says that the butcheries by the Poles behind the front are indeed increasing to such an extent that rigorous intervention will probably soon be necessary.
He says it is the intention of the Fรผhrer and Gรถring to ANNIHILATE and EXTERMINATE the Polish people. The rest cannot be set down in writing, even by way of suggestion. Evening at Osterโs. Had a very kind letter from State Secretary v. Weizsรคcker. Rumors are circulating, already on 6. 9. in Bremen! that Papen and Ribbentrop are in Paris. All nonsense."
