We present to you the HotA version 1.8.1.

This release is mainly focused on bug fixes and balance adjustments. In particular, after studying the first few months of play as the Bulwark, we have implemented some changes to the new faction's visual and mechanical aspects.

For fans of single‑player games in the classic style, we present a whole bunch of new maps offering varying levels of challenge: “The Cursed Legions”, “Noble Nemesis”, “Paradise of the Mind”, “Taming of the Shrew”, and “Help!”.

The update also includes new RMG templates (Conquest and Sapphire), expanded settings for the map editor, new decor (the “Ice Assault” scenario has been updated using it), and a vast number of fixes to the extended event system — a treat for those who have grown to value this powerful tool.

In addition, the update includes a refined tutorial — if you want to introduce a new player to Heroes III, it will now be easier for them to master the basics; somewhat later, we plan to release a few more tutorial missions that will focus on more advanced mechanics applicable in modern-day, effective gameplay.

If you prefer playing via Steam, then HotA can now be installed on this platform as well, provided you have a copy of the game “Heroes of Might and Magic III: Complete” purchased there.
