How to Secure a PSN Account:
Changing your password or email on PSN can sometimes trigger a lock and prompt you to enter the account’s date of birth, so it’s important to know this in advance to avoid issues.
Verify the Date of Birth
Log in to your account on the Sony website. Go to "My Account Information" to check or update your birth date, and make sure to write it down for future reference.
Change the Email
On the Sony website, navigate to Account > Security. Click "Modify" to update your email address. Be sure to keep a record of the previous email for security reasons.
Change the Password
In the same Security tab, select "Change Password" and create a strong password with at least 8 characters.
Manage Family Settings
Go to "PlayStation Network" > "Family Management" to check if your account is part of a PlayStation family group. If there are any members listed, remove them to ensure your account’s security.
Manage Devices
In the "Device Management" section, select "PlayStation Consoles" and deactivate any connected consoles that aren’t yours.
Additional Tips:
1. Set up a security question and store the answer in a secure place.
2. Add a prepaid PSN payment method for extra security.
3. Take screenshots of your PSN purchase history, including transaction details, for record-keeping.
