Clashes erupted near the Education Ministry in Tirana, before spreading to the Ministry of Economy, with police deploying tear gas, stun grenades and water cannon.

Amid mounting anger at PM Edi Rama, tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets, also targeting banks and police stations.

In the latest escalation, the student movement joined the months-long Flamingo Revolution, which initially mobilized against a Trump-linked luxury resort in a protected coastal area.

The broader revolt is over corruption, education costs, and the government’s policies, with demonstrators demanding Rama’s resignation.
