🔥 Katie Zacharia out as White House press secretary — after 5 days

President Trump's new press secretary is being removed from the role after just one week, two US officials told CBS News — capping a tumultuous debut marked by a heavily criticized briefing room performance.

In her first and only briefing on Tuesday, a visibly nervous Zacharia read from prepared remarks for about 10 minutes — then took questions from just 3 outlets: Breitbart, Fox News, and the Daily Mail. She defended her performance on Fox News, saying she had little time to prepare.

Trump appointed her directly from Truth Social, where she was a senior communications adviser to Trump Media & Technology Group.

The latest casualty of an administration that hires for devotion and discovers, too late, that devotion isn't a skill.
