🚢 Oil tanker violating restrictions catches fire in Sea of Oman — Iran's Navy

Iranian naval surveillance teams patrolling the east of the Strait of Hormuz have detected a burning vessel, according to a statement by the Army Navy's public relations office cited by Mehr.

The tanker reportedly caught fire in a restricted zone in the Sea of Oman after switching off its tracking systems while attempting to transit the area.

Iran’s navy stressed that unauthorized movements in prohibited routes create insecurity and pose risks to other shipping.
