🚢📦 Hormuz turns into floating duty-free after container ship sinks
A container ship carrying more than 2,500 containers has gone down south of the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC Navy said it struck a naval mine while using an “unauthorized and dangerous route.” GFS Pride sank with containers left floating across the water, Anadolu reported.
Locals quickly got the hang of it, weaving their boats through the floating cargo and debris and scooping up whatever they could find.
Social-media reports claimed the cargo included iPhones and luxury perfumes. Those specific claims have not been independently confirmed.
After decades of sanctions, Iranians may finally have discovered Washington’s most generous import program yet: free delivery by sea.
👨🦳 Thanks, Trump. What a deal!
