Syria’s Foreign Ministry says Israel has completed work on the so-called Sufa 53 Line in Quneitra, describing the project as a violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. The line reportedly includes a military road, earthworks, and trenches along the separation area.
💬 “Syria condemns in the strongest terms the continuing violations committed by the Israeli occupation on Syrian territory, the latest of which is the completion of work on the so-called Sufa 53 Line,” the ministry said in a statement.
Under the 1974 arrangement, a UN-monitored buffer zone separates Israeli and Syrian forces, with limits on military deployments in adjacent areas.
Israel has maintained forces inside the separation area since December 2024 and continued incursions into southern Syria.
