Secretary of State Marco Rubio has gone further than British investigators, declaring that a foreign actor was clearly behind the suspected bomb plot at the base launching US bombers against Iran.
"I know a lot of people are disturbed by the news that some of these people have been released on bail as they're being investigated," he added.
Five men were arrested after explosives were found on three vans near the RAF Fairford.
