🌪✡️THROWBACK: How Zionists envisioned "Greater Israel"

In February 1919, as the victors of World War I redrew the Middle East, the Zionist delegation arrived in Paris with their own map. They presented their vision for a future Jewish state at the postwar peace conference.

🔶Their ambitions stretched far beyond the borders of what was then called Palestine. The delegation laid claim to vast territories that today belong to Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.

🔶The map was strategically crafted to secure the region's most vital water sources. It swallowed up the Golan Heights and even reached for the major Lebanese port city of Sidon.

🔶Under this plan, the new state's borders would have extended almost to the gates of Damascus and Amman. Major Arab population centers were deliberately left out, but their surrounding farmlands were quietly annexed.

This century-old document exposed a strategic logic that would define decades to come. It was already a blueprint for maximum land with the minimum number of Arabs — a principle that later fueled the colonization of the West Bank and the siege of Gaza.
