⚔️ Border clashes erupt along Afghanistan-Pakistan border
Pakistani and Taliban forces have exchanged artillery strikes as heavy fighting broke out on October 17–18 in Pakistan's Kurram district, according to media reports. Both sides accused each other of opening fire first.
As a result of hostilities, at least seven Pakistani soldiers were killed and another six wounded. Two observation towers and a Pakistani surveillance camera have allegedly been destroyed. A shell is also reported to have hit the residential area of Pewar on the Pakistani side.
The situation on the border remains tense. Afghanistan has historically refused to recognize the Durand Line as an official border, and in recent weeks, including on October 11, similar clashes already occurred there.
