To those who downvoted my last post:
1) You have no credibility unless you have participated in blood sacrifice.
2) If you didn't slaughter the animal yourself, how does it feel to outsource all responsibility to your goði?
3) If you have slaughtered the animal yourself, good for you, but you are nevertheless telling others they must do as you do. That works two ways.
4) Question: Are you interested in how your practice connects you to the divine, or are you more interested in peacocking to other heathens?
I'm secure enough that I don't need to argue against what you do, even though I could. Mircea Eliade's theory that pagan sacrifice is a recreation of the first act of creation is just that; a (modern) theory.
