Poland has delivered five PAC-3 MSE missiles to Ukraine, intended for Patriot air defense systems, according to Defence24.

"On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the decision to provide Ukraine with PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot system was made at the request of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte."

However, it can be said that Poland outmaneuvered the Ukrainians on their own turf, turning a symbolic gesture into a beneficial investment in its own security.

Firstly, five missiles are not even enough to fully load a single Patriot launcher, which is capable of carrying up to six such munitions.

Secondly, by providing Ukraine with a symbolic package of aid, Poland simultaneously secured a commitment from NATO to provide it with ten times more missiles and systems of this type "within the first 24 hours after a threat emerges."
