Today marks two of the most important victories of the pan-European struggle against Semitism, the Battle of Lepanto in 1571 against Islam, and the birth of Heinrich Himmler in 1900.

"Whether it was the German Emperor who was repelling the attacks from the East at Lechfield or whether Africa was being pushed back from Spain in long fighting, it was also a struggle of Europe, coming into being, against a surrounding world alien in its very essence [...] Just as the Greeks once faced the Persians in war, and the Romans faced the Mongolians, the Spanish heroes defended not only Spain, but the whole of Europe against Africa, just so Germany is fighting today, not for herself, but for the entire Continent. And it is a fortunate symptom that this realization is today so deep in the subconscious of most European nations that, whether by taking up their position openly or whether by the stream of volunteers, they are sharing in this struggle."

“True aristocracy or a true republic is government by the wisest and best, always a small minority in any population. Human society is like a serpent dragging its long body on the ground, but with the head always thrust a little in advance and a little elevated above the earth. The serpent's tail, in human society represented by the antisocial forces, was in the past dragged by sheer strength along the path of progress. Such has been the organization of mankind from the beginning, and such it still is in older communities than ours.

What progress humanity can make under the control of universal suffrage, or the rule of the average, may find a further analogy in the habits of certain snakes which wiggle sideways and disregard the head with its brains and eyes. Such serpents, however, are not noted for their ability to make rapid progress.”

Nations are associations designed to obtain and realize all the advantages which united power and wisdom can secure for a people. However this object may be modified or limited by forms of government, or ancient customs and legislation, the same great motive remains. The legislation of civilized countries, the skill, knowledge and experience of statesmen, are, or should be, chiefly directed to this point. No government is so restricted in its powers, as to be a mere negation in regard to the social interests of the country, and none should be so blind as not to see that it must be vain to attempt securing any higher interests of a people, while their material or industrial interests are neglected or suffered to languish. The extent to which governments have already gone, and must necessarily go, in protecting and promoting industry, clearly contradicts the idea, that men can be let alone to manage their private business entirely in their own way.

"This makes plain why love as passion - which is our European specialty - must have had a purely noble descent: as it is well known, its invention must be credited to the Provencal knight-poets, by those magnificent, inventive men of the “gai saber.” Europe is indebted to these men for so many things, almost for itself."

All of civilization constitutes the physical body, the sensible externalization and tangible work of a spiritual manifestation; this we call culture. The ensemble of an era in the life of men is made in the image of men: it has a soul and a body. If culture represents the entirety of movements and works of the soul of a great collective humanity, then civilization represents the exterior manifestations throughout the physical world: literary, theological, liturgical, philosophical and artistic, the fine arts, theatre, legislation and jurisprudence, public morality, social customs civic behavior, politics, uses of war, etc. […] There has never existed a civilization without culture. There has never been a culture that was not founded on a cult. Furthermore, no matter what method is used to examine this, one must understand this word “cult” in its most metaphysical sense and its most religious breadth.

Throughout all eras, as even the most primitive and grotesque cults have demon-strated to us, man is haunted by the mystery and origin of life, this life that he had received and could transmit, but did not give to himself. Man has always been aware that he could not create life, that he was neither the arbiter nor master. Man has always had the preoccupation of searching for the origin and the reason of life in something that is external and superior to himself, something capable of desiring and creating life; existing alone in nature as a person, a being capable of thought and ego—the self—he searches for his origin in another ego, another being that cannot possess limits and the weaknesses of men. This search has been happening since prehistoric times. Man had to wait until present day to see the spectacle of people searching for the origin of their ego in something inferior to themselves and attempt to explain the spirit by way of the material.

”Long periods of peace and quiet favor certain optical illusions. Among them is the assumption that the invulnerability of the home is founded upon the constitution and safeguarded by it. In reality, it rests upon the father of the family who, accompanied by his sons, appears with the ax on the threshold of his dwelling.”

"Behold, all my fortunes and all I had, I have lost! Let us not lose our souls. Be brave and manly, my beloved! Ignore death. Look at how much Christ, our Savior, has endured for us and with what shameful death he died. Firmly believe in this and do not move, nor leave your faith for this life and this world."

freedom are used to legitimize one's own political ambitions and to disqualify or demoralize the enemy. In the shadow of an embracing political decision and in the security of a stable political state or generation, law, whether private or public, has its own relatively independent domain. As with every domain of human endeavor and thought, it can be utilized to support or refute other domains. But it is necessary to pay attention to the political meaning of such utilizations of law and morality, and above all of the word rule or sovereignty of law.

Liberalism was the ruin of Greece. The decay of hellenic freedom was preceded by the rise of the liberal. He was begotten of Greek "enlightenment." From the philosophers’ theory of the atom, the sophist drew the inference of the individual. Protagoras, the Sophist, was the founder of individualism and also the apostle of relativity. He proclaimed that: "Opposite propositions are equally true." Nothing immoral was intended. He meant that there are no general but only particular truths: according to the standpoint of the perceiver. But what happens when the same man has two standpoints? When he is ready to shift his standpoint as his advantage may dictate? This same Protagoras proclaimed that rhetoric could make the weaker cause victorious. Still nothing immoral was intended. He meant that the better cause was sometimes the weaker and should then be helped to victory. But the practice soon arose of using rhetoric to make the worse cause victorious.

''there are collective heroisms but no collective masterpieces. The crowd can attain supreme manifestations of virtue, but it cannot reach supreme manifestations of creative intelligence. In no political, scientific, or literary history do we find the example of a crowd that had a bril-liant idea—by itself, in a given moment, and without external suggestion. Who could cite a council of war that conceived a battle plan comparable to Napoleon’s? Who could cite a council of ministers that issued one of those political reforms that was the epoch’s glory and made the names of Machiavelli, Richelieu, or Bismarck famous? Who could cite a congress of scientists in which one of those world-changing discoveries happened and rendered a Laplace or Galileo immortal.''

“History is the knowledge of the past, but it also grounds the memory of peoples. It is the source of their identity. It is a creator of meaning. From this point of view, Europeans suffer from a terrible deficit. They are repeatedly told that they have no roots, no substance of their own. They are persuaded that they are nothing. Yet they are the heirs of a very ancient civilization whose first admirable expression is contained in the Homeric poems. A significant part of our efforts is to respond to this European deficit of meaning. I indeed see this as the main cause of the other, more visible ills from which we suffer.”
