We plan to look how HTTP and SSL/TLS protocols work, see what some terms like frontend/backend/HTML/XML/JSON/etc mean, and poke some badly designed application by cURL and Postman tools. Every week we meet at F0rthsp4ce to hack on 3D graphics and make some art together.
For some meetings, we will organize presentation sessions where anyone can share their work or talk about a topic that they are interested in.

Every month we will have a showcase party with screens & drinks:)

Everyone is welcome and there are no prerequisites. Kif and Snay will be there as mentors and they love to help people find their way into 3D Graphics.

This weekend: two seminars for people with close to zero exp in IT (so called techies) about basics of computer networks.
What actually happens when you open a website in a browser?
The author and speaker Denis Sloneek, an expert on web protocols, will cover such topics as OSI, TCP/IP, IPv4/6, Ethernet, NAT, HTTP/SSL.
Seminars are targeted on people willing to start a career in IT, aiming to support them.
Some practice is included, so bring laptops.

Saturday event: Livecoding a web application in PureScript

Hi!

My name is Vladimir, I'm one of the f0rth.space residents.
I'm enthusiastic about introducing people to functional programming, so I decided to put up an event where I will showcase the full process of making a PureScript web application.

The application itself is a mixer for YouTube players - it should allow to play multiple embedded videos simultaneously with interactive volume controls, and with ability to share the experience via a link. It can be used to make experimental music, to help you with concentration while studying or to perform a chaos magick ritual.
There is a prototype written in JavaScript we will be using for reference.

If you are interested in either functional programming or front-end development, you are very welcome!

During the event, I will explain every step I'm making, as well as answer your questions.

What's included:

- Motivation (why PureScript?)
- Bootstrapping a PureScript project from scratch
- HTTP requests in PureScript
- Wrapping up JavaScript APIs using FFI
- Use of PureScript Halogen, a framework for web UIs
- Parser combinators (for URL-based routing)

The event will take place offline on May 14th starting 12:00 UTC+4.
Expected duration is 8 hours.

PAPA SRAPA is not a typical music documentary, but rather a condensed trip to the very heart of Noise. It is loaded with music that can hurt and heal, Russian weird avant-garde and savage vigor of its preeminent performer.

The film takes us to bizarre noise festivals and performances with ravers, tripsters and freaks immersing into worlds of sonic violence and ecstatic states of mind. Together with Papa we trace Noise back to 1920-s, binding it to early Soviet avant-garde figures, such as Dziga Vertov, Arseniy Avraamov and Nikolai Kulbin.

The craftsmаn should make his own tools - so Papa makes his of old Soviet radio components and cheap junk. We show it is not just about the way he plays them, using blood and saliva, but about the way he brings them to life. His weapons, known to the best part of Russian electronic musicians.
