Saturday event: Livecoding a web application in PureScript

Hi!

My name is Vladimir, I'm one of the f0rth.space residents.
I'm enthusiastic about introducing people to functional programming, so I decided to put up an event where I will showcase the full process of making a PureScript web application.

The application itself is a mixer for YouTube players - it should allow to play multiple embedded videos simultaneously with interactive volume controls, and with ability to share the experience via a link. It can be used to make experimental music, to help you with concentration while studying or to perform a chaos magick ritual.
There is a prototype written in JavaScript we will be using for reference.

If you are interested in either functional programming or front-end development, you are very welcome!

During the event, I will explain every step I'm making, as well as answer your questions.

- Motivation (why PureScript?)
- Bootstrapping a PureScript project from scratch
- HTTP requests in PureScript
- Wrapping up JavaScript APIs using FFI
- Use of PureScript Halogen, a framework for web UIs
- Parser combinators (for URL-based routing)
