The little girl Malak Al-Qayed was attacked by rodents that gnawed at her hands and feet while she slept, amid catastrophic living conditions in an uninhabitable home in the Al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City. 
Malak is not an isolated case; her story reflects the harsh reality faced by countless children in Gaza’s tents and displacement shelters, where rodents have become a daily threat to their safety in the complete absence of basic protection.

تعرضت الطفلة ملاك القايض لهجوم قاسٍ من القوارض التي نهشت يديها وقدميها أثناء نومها، وسط ظروف معيشية كارثية داخل منزل غير صالح للسكن في حي الصبرة بمدينة غزة. 
ملاك ليست حالة معزولة، بل تجسد مأساة قاسية يتجرعها عدد كبير من أطفال غزة في الخيام ومراكز النزوح، حيث باتت القوارض والحشرات خطراً يلاحق أجسادهم الغضة في ظل غياب أدنى مقومات الحماية والسلامة.
