Responding to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s office claiming the facts surrounding the assault remain “unclear,” Matt Murray, Executive Editor of The Washington Post, stated:

“To be clear: Some facts are neither in dispute nor unclear. Our photographer was clearly marked as Press. She was clearly beaten. These are not partisan or risible statements, but indisputable. We urge a thorough investigation and accountability.”

رداً على بيان مكتب رئيس وزراء الإحتلال الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو الذي ادعى فيه أن الحقائق "غير واضحة"، صرّح رئيس تحرير صحيفة "واشنطن بوست" مات موري:
"لتوضيح الأمر: هناك حقائق لا جدال فيها ولا غموض فيها. مصورتنا الصحفية كانت ترتدي شارة 'صحافة' بوضوح، وتعرضت للضرب بشكل جلي. هذه ليست تصريحات حزبية أو ادعاءات يمكن السخرية منها، بل حقائق مؤكدة لا تقبل الشك. نحن نطالب بتحقيق شامل ومحاسبة المسؤولين عن هذا الاعتداء."
