In a recent publication about the official companions and security personnel who stood alongside the martyred Leader during the American-Israeli attack on February 28, 2026, Imam Ali Khamenei’s office explained the circumstances surrounding the decision. The publication recounts the life of Martyr Hajj Saeed Sahebdel, a member of the martyred Leader’s special office who had worked alongside him since his presidency and later joined the Leader’s Office.

According to the account, during those difficult days, when it was not possible to provide shelter for everyone, the martyred Leader of the Revolution deliberately chose not to use a shelter but to stay at his office. The publication attributes the following words to him:

“This country belongs to Imam Mahdi (A), and no harm will come to it.”
