🇾🇪 Yemen / 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia
— AnsarAllah forces continued their advance towards Taiz. The Jabal Habshi area west of Taiz city was reported to have been completely liberated. AnsarAllah forces have taken full control of the area after clearing the remaining areas in the Jabal Habshi district. Advances continued in the direction of Al-Misrakh and Najd Qasim, while Yemeni forces reached the Milat area and were approaching Al-Dhabab, the southwestern gateway to Taiz city.
— Fighting continued along the Al-Misrakh and Al-Kalaibah axes. Attempts to enter Al-Misrakh were made on October 9 and October 10 but were unsuccessful. Given the situation in the area, the remaining areas in southern Taiz city were reported to be likely to come under the control of the Yemeni army, leaving armed groups loyal to the Saudi-led coalition with no option other than surrender.
— Yemeni forces reportedly inflicted heavy losses on Saudi-backed South Yemeni forces during failed attacks on the Bab al-Mandab front. Around 150 personnel were reported killed or wounded. Among the reported deceased were personnel from Dhale, Radfan, Khormaksar, Lahij and Al-Houta, Shabwa, Abyan, Hadhramaut, Yafe’, Aden and surrounding areas. The reported breakdown was: Dhale: 7; Radfan: 7; Khormaksar: 6; Lahij–Al-Houta: 5; Shabwa: 5; Abyan: 8; Hadhramaut: 3; Yafe’: 3; Aden–Al-Mansoura: 3; Aden Crater: 2; Aden Al-Briqa: 3; and Karsh, Al-Masimir and Al-Hawashb: 7.
— A report stated that a large number of Saudi-backed forces were killed in Yemeni forces’ strikes on Bab al-Mandab. The losses were linked to the failed attempts by Saudi-backed forces to advance and retake positions along the strategic front.
— Two missile launches from Yemen were reported towards Saudi positions and militia gathering points. Yemeni armed forces continued their operations against Saudi sites, while Yemeni missiles were also reported heading towards Saudi territory.
— Some aircraft circling Riyadh Airport reportedly began changing their destinations to other airports because of the continuation of Yemeni armed forces operations. The last landing operation at Riyadh Airport was reported to have taken place approximately one hour before the update.
— Saudi airport disruptions continued. Najran Airport and Jizan Airport had remained closed to flights for more than 83 hours. Flights over Dammam city in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province were also disrupted.
— A series of loud explosions was heard in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. Earlier reports also indicated that aircraft were avoiding landing at Saudi airports because of the continuing Yemeni operations.
— An unusual thermal anomaly was detected at the Shadqam gas plant in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, reaching 616 megawatts compared with a highest normal rate of 69 megawatts, approximately nine times higher than normal. According to the thermal imaging, the anomaly indicated a large fire at the Shadqam gas plant.
🇮🇷 Iran
— Reports emerged about the downing of a U.S. enemy surveillance drone over the city of Yazd in Iran.
— Iran’s Vatan Emrooz newspaper reported that a new generation of Shahed-136 drones was used in an attack on a headquarters of separatist groups in Erbil the previous day.
🇮🇶 Iraq / 🇮🇷 Iran
— Suicide drones were reported entering Erbil’s airspace. The development followed the reported Iranian strike against separatist groups in Erbil.
— Iraq’s Islamic Resistance released new details about unidentified military aircraft flying in Iraqi airspace on Thursday, October 8. The aircraft were reportedly using military bases located in Jordan, Turkey, the occupied territories, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to conduct what it described as illegal patrols over Iraqi territory.
— Iraqi security forces reportedly thwarted an ISIS attack in Al-Burghaliya, south of Kirkuk Governorate in northeastern Iraq.
🇵🇸 Occupied Palestine / 🇹🇷 Turkey
— Hamas political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya met Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara, accompanied by a delegation of Hamas leaders.
