“They resented them only because they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.”

What the believing Iranian people are being subjected to through the imposition of the unjust American blockade is a historical extension of the ordeal of the Muslims in the Valley of Abu Talib, when they spoke the truth in the face of the most powerful tyrants on earth among the disbelievers of Quraysh.

Today, in the face of the American machinery of tyranny being unable to break the will to withstand the military confrontation, America has resorted to a dirtier weapon: tearing at the bodies of the innocent and seeking through its brutality to achieve what its military arsenals have failed to accomplish.

The practice of the Zionist American enemy’s politicians of starving peoples represents a human downfall that once again exposes the falsehood behind the glittering slogans of the forces of arrogance. Since the extermination of the Native American tribes and their peoples, American policy has mastered turning the means of peoples’ livelihood into a criminal tool for controlling their fate. The suffering of Iraqi children in the 1990s as a result of the brutal blockade is not far behind us. Today, this systematic Zionist-American criminality is being renewed to affect the peoples of the region in Palestine, Yemen, and Iran, at times through the freezing of funds and what are called economic sanctions, and at other times through the strangulation of airspace and the closure of borders.

Amid this brutality, the shameful hypocrisy of politicians who have taken cowardice as their support and submission as their cloak stands out, as though starving and exterminating peoples and killing children were justified acts. They have forgotten the words of God Almighty: “The believers are but brothers,” and the description by the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) of Muslims as a single body, as though they had never heard the lament of Ali (peace be upon him) over the hunger of an individual in Ta’if or Yamamah. They heard and understood, but the world became alluring in their eyes, so their ears became deaf.

Those entities and companies that have accepted submission and humiliation before unjust American decisions in exchange for scraps of interests have chosen for themselves the role of submissive supporters of American-Zionist decisions. They are entities and companies without dignity, after contributing to strangling their neighbors and tightening the blockade on their believing people, while forgetting the positions of their own people and leadership during the blockade of the 1990s, and their support for the state when it was being torn apart by ISIS, which was approaching the point of violating the lives of its people and its holy sites.

From here, and amid our absolute confidence and firmly rooted certainty that the blockade will not weaken the resolve of free peoples and will not diminish their will, we issue an appeal to the proud sons of our Iraqi people to break this blockade by every possible means, in support of the brotherly Iranian people, particularly by supporting Iranian products, encouraging their exchange, and refraining from participating in any activity that exacerbates the suffering of the oppressed.

In conclusion, we address the honorable Marjas and eminent scholars (may their blessings endure) with this question:

What is the Islamic legal ruling on assisting the enemies, in any form whatsoever, in imposing a blockade on and starving the believing Iranian people?
