Dear Google Maps Team,

We, as a group of concerned users, are writing to respectfully request the correction of a geographic naming error in your map service. The body of water currently labeled as the “Arabian Gulf” has been historically and internationally recognized as the Persian Gulf for over 2 millennia.

The name “Persian Gulf” is not only rooted in ancient historical records, such as those of Herodotus, Ptolemy, and countless Islamic and Western sources, but is also officially recognized by the UN and almost all international organizations and atlases, including the National Geographic Society and Encyclopædia Britannica.

We respectfully urge you to uphold academic integrity and international standards by correcting the name on Google Maps to “Persian Gulf”.Thanks for your commitment to providing accurate and responsible geographical information.
Sincerely
