There's a parallel between the story of how the real Israelites never managed to completely destroy the Edomites who'd lived in Horite infested Seir for 2k yrs, and how the Sumerians never erased the neanderthals but unmade them by adding boon DNA.

What if there's a lot more of them than we're told and they went underground, biding their time until we let our guard down like today.
